We had such a great fourth of July this year! Mandy and Stella joined us for the parade in the morning, then we headed over to the Orton's for some brunch! After we just played around in the yard for a bit, it was such a nice overcast day it was perfect! Then we all took some much needed naps! Later on we ventured out and bought some couches! So excited for those to show up! We went to Red Robin for dinner and then watched some fireworks! Brody was so good during it all too! I didn't want the day to end! SO fun! Definitely my favorite Holiday ever! Besides my birthday of course...;) That post is coming up next! Hope everyone else had a great 4th!

This is so old! I'm so behind! But I had to put up my trip to Cali in February! I had such a great time and it was much needed! So thankful to Andy and Melissa for letting me and Brody come and hang out for a few days! We went to the LA Clipper game, went to a park, Santa Monica Pier and even Disneyland!! I loved every minute of being there! Not to mention the beautiful weather! Andy bbq'd us some great chicken cabobs! So good! Brody had so much fun with Clark too! Clark loved the ipad and played with it for a good part of the time I was there! I didn't really get any pics of Grace because she was in school while I was there! Once again here are some collages of my trip! I know it has been way too long, but hopefully people are still looking at my blog wondering what is up! Well hopefully this weekend I will be officially caught up! But we'll see how it goes...at least I am finally getting California up! Yay! So fun!

Brody turned one on October 8th, 2010

We had such a great time at Brodys birthday party! He didn't get into the cake like I thought he would, but he LOVED the frosting! We had just a little party, ate some cake and ice cream and opened presents, then of course played with them! I just can't believe he is so old already! He is the funniest kid ever! He is so curious, has to know how everything works. He sees you use a set of keys to open a door and he'll grab them and try to reach the door to use them like you did! He's like that with everything! It's amazing! He just amazes me everyday! He loves to run and be outside! I've never seen a 14 month old want to be outside as much as he does! We got him a fourwheeler for his birthday and of course he loves driving it! He even stands up while driving it like his dad does, so funny! He likes to copy everything you do except for talking. He just grunts and points to get what he wants. When he is playing he will make other noises, or sometimes while music is on he sounds like he is trying to sing with the music. He also loves to dance! Anytime he hears music start he starts moving with the music. He also loves to watch elmo on the iPad. He dances to those songs too! Oh we just love him so much! Who knew you could have so much love for one little person! I'm sure there is much more but I have a lot more to blog so I will end for now!

10 months

So I have never posted my summer pics! I honestly may never get to it! Now that I am back at work, getting things done at home are almost impossible! This little boy takes all my time as soon as I get home! He goes to bed earlyish, but by the time that happens I am wiped out! This little boy is the love of my life! He is so adorable! He is mostly the happiest kid! And quite the stud might I add! He is so so close to walking! I think he is scared of it though! As soon as he takes a few steps he quickly looks for something to cling onto! I don't know what else is new with him! He is getting smarter though, he copies a lot of things you'll do! He has mastered his wave finally. He now has 3 teeth. He will show you he is a big boy. Knows where his ears are, working on the nose right now. He is always pointing to the ceiling and talking to it! He has less than 2 months till he is off formula! Yay!!! He is definitely my favorite little kid ever! He sleeps so nicely during the night, and I can finally tell he knows who I am! I have been a little worried about that since he doesn't see me very much! I could keep talking about this kid forever! But I'll wait until the next post to talk more! Probably for his year one! Can't believe how fast that is approaching! So excited!

9 Months

I can't believe Brody is already 9 months old! So crazy! He has accomplished so much lately! He is crawling, has 1 and 1/2 teeth, walks around on furniture, goes up the stairs, falls down the stairs, eats big boy food, got a new car seat! What a big boy! We love him so much! I have so many pics to post of our summer and I will be doing that shortly! We have had a blast being together these last few weeks! They are quickly coming to an end...:( But I thought I should at least put some sort of update real quick! We sure do love this kid!

We have been enjoying being outside whenever it is warm enough! I am sure Brody doesn't care as much, but I have loved it! Recently I have been putting on his little sunglasses, he only puts them on when daddy puts his on! Its quite funny! I had to hold his arms down to take any pics with his sunglasses on when Luke wasn't around! Sometimes he will push down his glasses to his nose and look over the top of them. So cute!

He is the funniest little guy though! He has been talking so much lately! Of course it's all jibberish to us, but still so cute! He is starting to pull himself to standing positions, he almost has it mastered. We put him on his hands and knees to try and get him to crawl, but just ends up staying in that position until he gets tired and starts to cry. Eventually he will fall over! Sometimes he sits back on his bum! We just love this little guy so much! Every little thing is so exciting! Even though the thought of him crawling is scary, it is also very exciting to see him reach a new milestone!

6 months!

So this is kind of late! Brody is now almost 7 months! Time has gone by way too fast! I feel like you don't have time to enjoy each stage of their little accomplishments! But as a 6 month old he can do quite a bit, well at least to me he can. But he is learning how to eat new foods. So far Avocado and bananas are his favorite! I have started to puree them myself and got creative and mixed carrots in with bananas and he loved them! We have found out he likes to drink out of cups, he chews on his sippy, but won't really drink the water, at least not on purpose! He loves to drink water out of our water glasses! Also he is great at rolling around! I was gardening the other day and left him inside to play and when I came back in to check on him I couldn't see him anymore! He had rolled off his blanket and was by his new car sucking on one of my shoes! I freaked out for a second until I walked further and saw him. I actually thought he had crawled away! But he hasn't learned how to do that yet, luckily! We're not ready for crawling in our house at all! He is so close to figuring it out though. He tries so hard, he stretches out his arm then almost moves his leg, than he rolls over. So funny! He makes me laugh! He is also a jabber mouth! Especially in the mornings! He also has been so happy lately, I thought he was teething as he keeps putting things in his mouth and chewing on them, kind of tugging on his ear and getting really red cheeks, but I check every day and there is nothing! We have fun checking though! I tell him to saw ahhh, he opens up wide and says ahhh, and when I check his gums he starts giggling! He loves to have his diaper changed! That is when we seem to have the most fun! He always starts laughing when I start to clean his bum, I have no idea why he thinks it's so funny, maybe it tickles! Who knows! Either way I am having such a great time being a mom! I just wish I could be home with him; we'd have even more fun! He is the easiest kid to take care of, so when he gets fussy sometimes I am not sure what to do! He is just always so happy though! We are so blessed to be his parents! I never thought I could love someone so much! When I am at work I feel like part of me is missing, it breaks my heart every day. I am hoping that will change soon…but I doubt it. Can't wait for his next appointment though to see where he will be.

As of 6 months he is 17percentile for weight, 75 percentile for height and 98 percentile for his head! My pediatrician told me he is going to be a genius…we'll see…he weighed 15lbs 9oz and 27 inches long. Almost time for a new car seat!

St. George

So a few weeks ago Cassandra and I went down to St George to visit Walter and Traci's family! It was great! I didn't take too many pics, but I decided to put up a few that I did take! I was supposed to go running on Saturday morning, but I didn't bring any of my warm running clothes as St. George is supposed to be warm! Well it just happened to be cold that morning! Anyway, so I went with Walt to Boyce's baseball practice! It was fun! Walter is the coach as he is for most of Boyce's teams. It was fun to watch Walter teach these boys how to play baseball! So while practice was going on, Trey and I were playing on the playground and then went and played some soccer, and when I say play I really mean Trey kicking the ball into the goal while I watched! You can tell Boyce is a great big brother, he really entertained Brody and made him laugh! It was really cute! Then of course the main reason why we went down, we got to see Hudson! I forget how little these babies start out! He is adorable! He seemed pretty mellow! So we had a great time! So happy we were able to go down and see our family!

We went to Hadley's blessing a few weeks ago! It was so wonderful! I just put up a few pics of our day! Unfortunately I did not get a pic of the happy new family! I love the pics of Brody and Hadley together! They are so funny when they get together! Brody wants to grab at every accessory Hadley has on! He even tried to take off her pretty headband that was on her head! What a fun day! :)

We decided to try solid food today! I heard to try the grossest veggie first, and to me and Luke that is peas! His initial reaction was the best! Its mostly like the last pic on here! i really think he liked the spoon more then anything!! All in all it was a good experience! He is just growing so fast! Being at work all day I am so afraid I am going to miss the big things! He is so close to rolling over! I have been working at it so hard at home so he'll do it for me! So sure enough he will do it while i am at work! But he is just as cute as ever! Always making us smile or laugh! Such a joy to have in our home, especially after a hard, long day at work! His cute voice is always there to cheer us up! We love him more than anything and are so blessed to have him in our lives!

Presidents Weekend!

For Presidents weekend we went up to Bear Lake! This was the first time Brody was on a snowmobile! Dari has pics of him in his snow suit. I have decided I am the worst at taking pics of our son! But anyway, I did get a few of the weekend! It was fun, we went back to the sinks, Jeremy got engaged, caught up on relaxing, ate breakfast(don't normally do that), played half of a game, watched tons of movies! We unfortunately didn't get to watch the Olympics! I even got an awesome gift from Luke for Valentines Day! It's a Nike connection for my Ipod and Iphone! It's so fun! A women talks to me while I am running and the last time I went running Lance Armstrong told me how great I did! Above are some of the pics I did take! I even got a little video! Brody is a talker! Had to get that on film! The video wont upload! But I promise it is cute!

Brody's blessing was so wonderful! Luke did such a great job! It was so great to get our family and friends together to celebrate this wonderful occasion! It seems so crazy that he is already blessed! He will be 11 weeks old on Christmas day! He is getting so big so quickly! I guess he isn't too big though, he is actually a little smaller then he should be, but he is still healthy. We want to thank all who came! It was so great to have the support! Next thing you'll know he will be getting baptized! Just thought I'd put up a few of the pics with the fam! Oh and his blessing outfit is the one that Luke's mom made for Luke when he was blessed! Brody is actually a little bigger then Luke was as Debbie had to do some adjusting to it! But it worked out perfectly! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!! :)

7 Weeks

Our little guy is so wonderful! I can't believe how much I love him! Everyday I get excited for the new things he has in store for us! He has recently started smiling more and makes a noise that sounds like he is trying to laugh! Christmas is going to be so fun when he is laughing and smiling all the time! All is he does now is scowl at everyone! But it's so cute it really doesn't matter! He has his two month appointment next week! It will be fun to see how much he is grown! We can tell he has grown quite a bit as his clothes are now fitting him! He has gotten a pretty big head as well! It's getting kind of heavy to hold! But he hold's it up so well on his own! It seems like he is growing so fast! I can't believe he is only 7 weeks old! For some reason he seems so much older than that! He has also started sleeping really well through the night! I am hoping by the time I go back to work he sleeps all the way through the night!

We have been so blessed by this little miracle! He is such a good little guy. He only cries when he wants something so basically he doesn't cry much at all! It's so great!

O Christmas Tree

I decided to blog about my tree today! I love it! It used to belong to a family friend who gave it to my parents. My parents decided it was too big for their place, although I usually would make them put it up anyway! When I got married they decided to give it to me since I loved it so much! It's a pain to put up but so worth it for me! I have to put each branch up one by one, but when I am done it is so big and full! It is one of my favorite Christmas decorations! That was all I wanted to say! Happy Thanksgiving!

Ok these pics uploaded backwards...but we start with brandon and stacey carving pumpkins a few days before halloween! Their pumpkins looked great! Brandon dropped one on his way into our house and Stacey made it look like a pumpkin was throwing up...i didn't take a pic of it, i'm not sure why..but it looked so great! I honestly think that was my favorite one, besides Luke's awesome pumpkin! Sadly Luke's pumpkin didn't last the night :( It shriveled up through the night! So glad we took some awesome pics of it the night before! We didn't even end up putting our pumpkins outside...how dumb is that! The pic of Brody was on Halloween. That was his costume, he was too little to have a real costume! Next year though he will have a real one! We just hung out Halloween night, we got quite a few trick or treaters! Way more than last year, we even almost ran out of candy! We had a great time carving pumpkins and a great halloween!!!

So these are just a few of my favorite pics we have so far! Our little baby boy is already a week and a half old! So crazy how fast time is going by already! Part of me really wants the next while to go by fast just because of how I am feeling and would like to feel normal again. But the other part of me wants him to stay little for as long as he can! He is such a great baby! He has already learned that if he cries we will pick him up as he stops crying almost instantly! He has a hard time sleeping at night as do we! Can't wait until that ends!

I have been told I need to tell his birth story. But I can honestly say there isn't too much to tell! But here it goes...

On the morning of October 8th we waited anxiously to get a call from the hospital to tell us when to come in so I could be induced. My doctor thought it would be good for me to just go ahead and be induced as I had high blood pressure for the last month of my pregnancy. So at 9am we got our call to come in and start the wonderful process! Luke bought a new camera and decided to film throughout the day...of course! I was so nervous! It's one thing to go into labor naturally, but knowing when it's going to happen is another! Although I still don't know what it is like to go naturally. Anyway...so basically once we got in our room and answered the million questions the nurse had to ask and put the IV in(worst part ever!!! had to stick me 3 times! not fun!) it was about 11am. With the petocin(sp) my contractions started basically right away. Luke decided to go lunch with his dad about noon and wasn't back until 1:30, I couldn't get the epideral without him there and found out I wasn't going to be able to get it until 3 as the guy was in a c section until then! By 3 I was in quite a bit of pain! Amazing how hurtful those little suckers are! So basically as soon as I got the epideral everything was great! The day actually went by pretty quickly even though all I could do is lay there and do nothing! So around 7 I hadn't progressed much, when I came in I was at a 2, when it was around 7 I was at a 4. My doctor said he would give it another hour, but if nothing had happened in that time we would really have to thing about getting a csection. At that point I just wanted the day to be over, I wasn't really nervous about it, I think Luke was way more nervous then I was! I hadn't progressed at all, so he went in detail about the csection and how everything would work. It wasn't an emergency csection, but they did get everything started pretty fast. We went in around 8:20, with all the medicine through the epideral I was pretty out of it. All I felt was a lot of tugging, I was getting pretty anxious about them starting, afraid I was going to feel them cutting me open! So I asked Luke when they were going to start, but because of the gas mask he couldn't understand me. So around 5 min later I said, "I wish they would just start!" Then the nurse came to Luke and told him to get his camera ready because they were about to pull his head out! I was shocked! Our nurse got some great pics of them pulling him out of me! He was born at 8:44 on October 8th weighing 7lbs 12.5oz and 20 inches long! So that is basically the story! We came home on Sunday the 11th. We love him more then anything! Can't imagine my life without him anymore! What did we do before he came to us? Right now he is laying beside me on the couch and he stinks! So I need to change his diaper now! I hope you all enjoyed reading about how he came into our lives!

So last Sunday we went with Dari to Wheeler Farm to take some fun pics! These are some of my faves! I thought she did such a great job! We are getting down to the end, and it couldn't feel further away! I am getting so impatient! I just want him here so I can hold him and stare at him all day! We had 3 showers last week and they were all so wonderful! We got so many great things! Thank you to everyone who helped and came to them! So as of last Friday I am not dilating...just in case anyone was wondering! We have an appointment tomorrow to get an ultrasound and see how big he is so far! I am so excited to see him and how much he has grown...although i can definitely feel how much he has grown! I can only eat a few bites before I feel so full it is like I just ate a horse...not that I have ever eaten a horse...but you know what I mean! Hopefully by the end of the week we will have the nursery done and I can put up some pics of those...not that it will be much to look at! If any of you have cute/fun ideas for vinyl lettering and what we could put on the walls that would be awesome if I could steal them! Love you all! :)

6 Weeks to go!!!

So as I get closer, I get more miserable!!! :) It's so wonderful! I am so grateful to be having such a healthy pregnancy! Brody is growing like he should and I am right on track for giving birth. No contractions or anything yet. I almost feel like I'm not even coming to the end just because I haven't felt anything the doctor keeps asking me about. But I assume that is actually a good thing since I still have 6 weeks left!

Every week it seems I go through something new that I just love(that was sarcastic for those of you who coulnd't tell)...the last few weeks it has been an itchy belly! And I dont mean I sometimes have an itch...it's like I have a ton of mosquito bites all over my lower stomach! It's awesome! I have tried what seems like everything to get the itching to stop but I just keep itching! I find myself scratching my belly when I wake up during the night! I am hoping this wont last the rest of the 6 weeks!

I haven't had many problems with my feet swelling until I went back to work. By Friday they are huge and it hurts to walk...usually by Sunday my feet look normal again and I feel good walking...but that did not happen this weekend! They never went back down! It's never good to start out the week with swollen feet and ankles! I have put a big box under my desk so I can put my feet up during the day while I am sitting there. I think it has helped quite a bit!

Well I think those are my biggest complaints as of right now! I don't have the problem of having to run to the bathroom every five minutes yet, but I hear that will come when he drops and I will be able to breathe again, but will have to use the bathroom constantly! I guess we shall see!

So it's kind of funny but sometimes I image what it will be like when Brody is finally here with us and since he has been in my for what seems like forever, I can almost imagine him talking and walking right away! I know that's not possible, but I feel like he's already so old! The way he moves around, which is my most favorite part about being pregnant!, it feels like I know him so well and that we have these silent connections with eachother. I hope that doesn't make me sound crazy...

Anyway I am glad I got to write that all down! It feels good to get it all out! In the next few weeks Luke and I have decided to do the maternity pics! I am so excited for Dari to do those! They will be so fun! So hopefully by the end of my 4 weeks I will have those posted, if they are ready! I figured that would give me something to look forward to though! Yay! Dari took this pic by the way! I don't know about everyone else, but it looks like my nose has doubled in size!

30 Weeks!!!!

So I am officially in my 3rd trimester and am counting down the weeks! We haven't done anything to get ready for the Brody's birthday! I have started looking at all the big stuff that I would like to get, but with Luke working 24/7 don't know when we'll actually start getting them! Hopefully by September I will at least know what I am going to do with the room. I still have no idea if I am going to have a theme, or just a generic color scheme that I can use for all my children! I do have a few ideas but can't decide on one!

I feel Brody moving around all the time now! At least when I am sitting or laying down! I'm still not used to the feeling of it! It surprises me everytime! Especially when I can actually feel his hand or foot! Craziness!!!

I still have a bunch of other stuff to post, but it goes back to May, so I haven't decided if I want to do all of that! We will see...turns out even though I wasn't at work staring at a computer all day, I still hated being on the computer while I was off!

Everything is going really well though, Luke will be back to a normal schedule in a few weeks! Yay! I am really excited to have my husband back! Although it's nice to have the extra income. I will try, try, try really hard to get the rest of my posts up before the end of the week! I think it will lift a weight off my shoulders for sure! Love you all!

It's a Boy!!! & 25 weeks

So I just realized I never blogged about the sex of our baby!! I figured I should do it before I update with the rest of the stuff I have been meaning to put up here, which should be by next week! But We are very, very excited!!! Now I can put the room together and start figuring out what stuff we are going to be buying for him! He's already way adorable of course, I will put the ultra sound up when I put up the rest of the my posts. Anyway the name I have picked out is Brody Byron Orton...hopefully it sticks, as that is what everyone calls him now anyway! Luke doesn't mind it, he says it is growing on him, and since he doesn't really have an opinion about it that is what we will be naming him!

I also thought I would post a pic of me at 25 weeks! I grow more and more everyday, it's pretty amazing being pregnant. There is a lot the human body can go through, but this has to be the hardest and craziest. And yet somehow after all the stretching of the skin and growing of body parts, you can still somehow make it back to your normal self after a little bit. I do not think I will be one of the lucky ones that can just automatically get any sort of figure back, but that's ok, I do enjoy working out! Well mostly...it's the getting there part that is hard! So we are still way excited to be bringing this little boy into our lives! Most days it still doesn't feel real, but I suppose one day when I am holding him at 3am trying to figure out why he is still crying it will...

16 Weeks!

Well I have finally made it to week 16 and I am HUGE!!!! So I needed a break from work on Tuesday and decided to look up some baby stuff that I thought would be fun to read! Well I came upon some checklists and I thought, "Oh I love checklists! Let's see what I can start getting ready for!" So I first started with the daddy list, so I was going through it and thought, "ok I can help Luke with all of this, except what is the birth plan?" Every list I looked at it mentioned some sort of birth plan but never said what it was...anyone?? What the heck is that? Ok then I look at the hospital bag checklist and see I need to bring something to wear that I wouldn't mind throwing away later....had no idea, ok...then I need to bring some breast pads, forgot about those, ok....bring a book to read to pass the time during labor! what?? Am I really going to be reading??? Ok so at this point I start realizing that human I am growing inside me HAS TO COME OUT! I can't leave the hospital without that happening! Little freaked out...So then I move onto the baby proofing checklist....for those of you who have been to my house know that our house is nowhere near baby proof...how is that ever going to happen??? Danger everywhere! Help! Then it says I need to put together a few first aid kits to put basically anywhere I will be going. It says I should even put one in my diaper bag, so the first aid kit has about 40 items in it, but at the same time it says you don't need to pack the whole nursery either, but wont the first aid kit take up the whole diaper bag anyway?? Then when I started reading about what stuff I need for the nursery I realized I will actually be taking care of this child and that's when I ended the reading of the checklists! I was feeling so overwhelmed! It was a lot to take in all at once! Because at that point I really realized I have no idea how to be a mom! Any books I should be reading? Any advice for the hospital visit??? I need all the help I can get! Oh and I need to work out really bad, any advice there would be awesome too!

Anyway, just thought I would share that with everyone. It helps to get it out all my new fears and worries out in the open!

SPRING BREAK!!!!

So for spring break I went to Vegas for 2 days with my friend Sharay! We had so much fun! We got to stay in a suite at The Palazzo! It was very nice! The only problem with it was there were gross hairs in our bath tub, and even after we complained about it never got cleaned up! Even when they said the manager had come to inspect it, they never touched the tub or shower when they tidied up our room! Rude! But the rest of the room was fun! So basically we went to relax and lay by the pool, well it was only sunny the first day we were there and only laid out for about an hour, the next day it was overcast and windy! But we found The Fashion Show mall to keep us busy until we had to go to dinner and then our show! We ate at Margartiaville our first night, it was alright...we might not have ordered the right thing though. But being pregnant nothing sounded good but a salad! But we did get our virgin daquaries. They were tasty! Neither of us won any money, but at least this time I knew how to use those machines! I tried to play 21 because I have been practicing on Luke's phone, but when I finally got the guts to sit down and play I got I.D'd and didn't have my I.D. on me. The lady was very rude and told me to get off the casino floor! So I never got to play my game! :( Oh well I will just have to go back and play... Here are a few pics of the fun we had. I was a slacker and took like 10 pics so I picked the best ones...hopefully!

We got half price tickets to dinner for 3 bucks each! We went to Planet Hollywood! It was pretty good, and the whole time we have wanted cool cups that we see everyone with, but of course without the alcohol. Well we found out they are like 29 bucks so we settled for these from Planet Hollywood that light up! They only cost 7 bucks extra.

One of the Blue Men...He got blue on me though...:( Not good for a white hoodie! But they were very strange but very funny! They never smiled or laughed, just straight faced as they did stuff. I can't even describe what the show was like, it is just something you have to see! I would suggest getting tickets half price at the half price place at the Fashion Show Mall. The show was really fun though!

Rascal Flatts!!!

YAY! Megan won tickets to the Rascal Flatts concert and asked me to go with her! This was the end of February sometime. They were so awesome!!!! And very hot! We had great seats, I think the best I have ever sat in for a concert! We had so much fun rockin out to them! I took like 100 pics, it was very hard to pick which ones I wanted to put on here. So I decided one of each of them! I highly recommend going to their concert though if you get the chance!

Can't belive I am finally through my first Trimester! That felt like it took forever! I am still feeling a little sick, but definately not like last week. I am hoping I just wake up one day and feel awesome! That happens right? I hope so! Well only 6 months to go! National Nothing Day!!!

So I got to work this morning and turned on my computer to find out that today is National Nothing Day!!! Who knew this sort of day even existed! But I did a little research on it to make sure it was a more or less a real holiday! Apparently it was created by a newspaper man, Harold Pullman Coffin in 1973. It is a day that is supposed to provide Americans with one day where we can just sit with out celebrating, observing or honoring anything! As much as I love celebrating holidays what a great day to give us an excuse to be a little lazier than normal! Unfortunately for me I still have to work as my job isn't excused for this bizarre day! But while I am here I guess I will try to not work as hard as I have the rest of the week! Really we should be having one of these days at least once a month! Although if you really think about it, anyday that is not a holiday could really be considered National Nothing Day! However as today is the official non observance of this national day I ask that each of you take some time today to just sit and do absolutley nothing!

Ok so I know it's been way too long since I have updated my blog! I have so many posts I want to do but have not had any time! So I just wanted to post a special Christmas message and let everyone know that I haven't forgotten about my little blog!

I'm not very good at just writing on my blog, I don't know that I have ever really done it before! But I thought since I have been such a slacker I would just write about a few things that we have been up to this wonderful Christmas Season. I have been crazy trying to get my finals done and stressed about passing my classes! And I am happy to say that I have successfully completed my Associates! It only took 5 years, but hey better late then never right?? Luke has been busy just working away making sure we can pay the bills!

So I know it's a little late but for Thanksgiving we went up to Bear Lake with his fam and had a great time. I know it's a little late, but if you would like to see pictures please refer to Dari's blog! My family had a Pre-Thanksgiving dinner at our house and if you would like to see those pictures please refer to Cassandra's blog!

I got the pleasure of going to the MoTab Christmas concert last week! It was so great! Thanks Grandma Williams! Then that weekend Luke and I went to the John Schmidt Christmas concert, that was also great! Then on Sunday we went downtown to look at the lights with John and Tina and Cassandra and Seth! It was a great week full of ways to put me in the Christmas spirit! We did take pics at temple square, so I will get those posted on Sunday!

Anyway, things are going great in the Orton home! We hope you all have such a Merry Christmas! Thank you all for being such great friends to us!

We went to Jackson Hole a few weekends ago for our anniversary trip! We had so much fun! I'd never been there before and Lukas went a long time ago! Unfortunately they were in their offseason when we went so only their shops were open! But we still enjoyed ourselves!

I got my new car! Well new to me! It's a 99 Alero Oldsmobile! It is a fun little car to run around in! It wasn't so pretty looking when we got it, but Lukas buffed it all out and I cleaned out the inside! It looks and smells great now!!! :)

So I said goodbye to my car tonight. I have been driving it for 5 years! It was my first car! John had it before me and I inherited it when he left on his mission! It was such a great little car! So many good times with it and my friends! All the great trips to St. George, Vegas and Cali! But now it's off on another adventure with a new girl! My little macker(it's name) all grown up! Well on to newer things! I will never forget you!

I tried posting this on Sunday but it would not upload for some reason, so we had to make it smaller so the quality isn't as great as our original! But anyway, Lukas and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary on Sunday!! We had a great weekend together! We celebrated more on Saturday. We got to sleep in and make ourselves breakfast, then we went to the Utah State Fair and I got myself a tattoo! Then we just hung out and went to lunch, thenlater that night we went to a reception and had Famous Dave's! Sunday we just lounged around hanging out! It was great! I love Lukas more than anything and am so lucky to be married to him! We are both so busy, so any time we get to spend together is extremely special! I love you Lukas!

I got to Portland in July to visit my sister and her family! We had a great time! I didn't want to come home! But here are some pics I took.

Melissa does play dates with girls in her ward, the week I was there they went to a city park and Grace played in their little fountain.

I was entertaining Clark with hairbrush so mom could put Grace down for a nap! We had a good time together! He's so cute!

So it was my birthday on July 10th which I told you in the previous blog I celebrated at Girls Camp. So when I got back we had a family party on Sunday! It was great! We had a fabulous dinner with my favorite things...Steak, breadsticks, frogeye & potato salad!!!!!!MMMMM!!! And then I got my wonderful present...a Wii! Thank you!

It was fun to have everyone give it a shot! Dodgeball is my favorite game!

Ok so I had a way hard time trying to pick which pictures to use for this post!! I took over 90 of them and I didn't want to leave anyone out! But girls camp was way fun this year! We had stake camp so I was with my mother & sister in law!! For those of you who don't know I am the assistant camp director and Beehive advisor in my ward. Our theme was Wizard of Oz, we were the Lions! I also got to celebrate my birthday up at camp this year. They made me feel very loved on my special day! Just hangin out! It was really hot, but we survived! Tiana & Hillary

We started off the day at the Murray Parade!! Lukas has to run sound for the announcers so we get some good shaded seats! My mom came and hung out with us, she rode her bike! Go mom!!! This is Luke and his crew that helped out that morning! After they cleaned up we were ready to go home. I was sitting out by the road waiting for Luke to come pick me up when I saw him drive by. I thought he was going to check something out before he picked me up. I thought about calling him to see what he was up to be usually when I do that he just ends up saying he's on his way. Well he calls me and tells me he made it to State Street and realized...hmmm I'm forgetting something...ya me!!! He totally left me there!!! I thought it was too funny to be too upset, but I still gave him a hard time the rest of the day!

We got to go to the Bee's game with the fam that night!! It was so much fun!! The only not fun part was when the ball came flying at us and we all ducked except the girl behind us who got a nice shiner!!! I felt so bad!! Also John & Tina were there and for some reason I didn't get their picture taken! Sorry guys! I still love you! Cute Trey!!!

Fathers Day!!!

This is my dad opening the gift Luke and I gave him. He was very very confused as to what it was! He finally figured out they were lawn mower parts that he thought was for his old lawn mower. So I told him to go try them out on his lawn mower while Luke went to go get his real present. So the last picture is him trying to put them on even though they are not even the same brand! It was really funny, it worked out better than we thought it would to try and trick him with opening these things first!

This is what those parts actually go to! It was fun to confuse my dad! But he had a way way old lawn mower that Luke and I both had a really really hard time pushing around the lawn. Ya it was a push mower, but the hardest push mower ever!!! This one doesn't even need a bag! My dad loves to mow his lawn now! And we love that he loves to mow his lawn now! That just means we don't have to do it! Just kidding dad we love mowing your lawn too!

Ok so I found out today is national doughnut day! I looooooovvveeee doughnuts!!! I use any excuse to get them while at work! There are only a few of us here today, So I convince those others that they also want doughnuts and go to Fresh Donuts and Deli just down the street! Well I get there and there is a line out the door and only a handful of doughnuts left!! AHHHHH!!!! I was freaking out! I asked how long till more were done and they said an hour! If I wasn't at work I would have waited! So I frantically called my work and had them look up the Salt Lake Doughnut company, well they moved to Draper! So I was talked in to going to Reams to buy the doughnuts since I had to buy chocolate milk anyway! Well I get there and get the milk, walk over to the doughnuts and am waiting for like 10minutes! No one came to help me! How rude! While I was waiting I was looking at the doughnuts and decided they looked really dry and not good like the ones I was going to get at the other place! While I was leaving I noticed a sign that said the doughnuts are self serve! oops! Well I then decided to drive to Schmidts Bakery because they have amazing doughnuts! Of course I get there and am waiting in line another good 15 mintues just to be told they are all out of doughnuts!!! Where's a krispy kremes when I need one??? At this point I'm about to give up! But I then decided to give the place by my work one more try! I looked up there number on my phone(you can text to google and they give you addresses and phone numbers! It's awesome!) I told them to put a dozen of whatever they had and hold it for me! She didnt even take my name or anything and hung up the phone! But at that point I didn't care, I just wanted my doughnuts!!! So I drove as fast as I could without going over the speed limit too much. The girl seemed to sense I was the one who called as I probably looked really desperate to get some doughnuts and as I was in there an HOUR earlier! That's right! All this running around took me an hour!!!! I might as well have waited! Well I finally get back to work and thought, "I should've bought more! " A lot more people showed up to work while I was gone! The good news is that I got to eat the doughnuts I wanted with my chocolate milk! There is nothing better! That is my random blog for the day! And I hope you all get to go out and eat a doughnut on this wonderful national day!

We went to Vegas with some friends two weeks ago! We had a blast! We went to In & Out burger, saw Tournament of Kings, rode the New York rollercoaster, walked the strip till we collapsed, did a little shopping and yes...we gambled!!!! It was the first time for our friend Sharay, she loved it! Lukas and I went sometime last year during the summer and almost melted! It was pretty hot this time too, but not as bad! That'll probably be the only trip we go on together this summer! So we made it count! I put up just a few pics of everything we did! So much fun!!!!

So this is quite a bit late! But it's hard to keep up on these things! Plus I tried to update my blog last week sometime and the pictures weren't coming through so I gave up! But it worked finally. I just wanted to put up a recap of our great mothers day! We both have wonderful mom's who deserve much more than we could give them! We love you both very much!

We got my mother in law, Debbie, some flowers and some gift cards! She better go use them!! We also made her some breakfast before church! We had a great time!

Who do you love? umm is this a trick question?? Of course it's Lukas! and then of course Kyle Korver!!! What girl doesnt?
How long have you been married? umm it feels like 30(in a good way) but really it's only been 1 year and 8 months!
Who said 'I love you' first? Luke did, although I don't know if he really remembers, but he doesnt remember much of anything anyway!
How long did you date? We dated for 9 months and were engaged for 4! We got married a week after our year anniversary of being together! We tried to get married that day but it was on a Sunday!
Where did he propose? I used to work at America First Credit Union. He put the ring in the drive up tube in an envelope. When I finally got the ring out(I was crying and laughing way too hard for that to happen quickly) he was behind me on one knee. It was so cute!! I felt like I was in a movie!! :)
Who is taller? Hmmm....now that is a good question. I guess that would depend on the day!
Who is smarter? Well street smarts definately Luke, book smarts me!
Who does the laundry? I think if you were to ask Luke how to do the laundry he would have a blank look on his face.
Who pays the bills? We both share that responsibility.
Who mows the lawn? We had that conversation the other day. I put that responsibility on Lukas, since I usually do all the house chores.
Who cooks dinner? I try to cook, if we're eating breakfast then Luke does, unless it's French toast. Because lets face it, my french toast is the best!!!
Who drives? Luke, we used to fight about it, especially when we were in my car. But I've given up. I don't care anymore.

Appreciation for Little Kids

I've decided this blog thing is really hard to keep up on! Not too much has been going on with Luke and myself. I am almost done with this semester though! One down, two more to go! Wahoo!! Well the summer is fastly approaching but of course you wouldn't be able to tell by the weather we keep having! But I'm excited to get off of work for a month and a half and just do school. Well I decided to put up some pictures from my photography class. I had to do a final assignment on an apprecaition for something. I chose to do mine on an appreciation for little kids! I love little kids, they are so cute! I picked ones that I know and love and totally wish I could've gotten my other little niece and nephew but unfortunatly they live in Portland and couldn't make it out there for this assignment! But I did get two of my nephews and then some friends kids! I took a lot of pictures! I only needed about 72 for the assignment and I think I took over 100 of each child! They're all just so cute! It was definatly fun for me to do!

Well hopefully the next post wont take me as long to actually post! It will probably take me awhile to get the hang of this thing!

Today was Dari's birthday! She had a ton of people over! It was great!

Mandy's birthday was a few days ago! I went down to hang out with her. We got to play for a little bit!

Our First Blog!

Well thanks to Rachele we've officially decided to start our own blog! Just a little update on us, Lukas and I have been married now for exactly 1 year 6 months and 16 days! I think we both agree that the first year was definatly the hardest! As I've said before, if you love to work than you'll love being married! Luke didn't think that was very funny! Oh well! We've been having so much fun getting to know eachother! We live in a great house in Murray and love it! Lukas is selling professional audio and video equiqpment and working on odd jobs with him and his brothers business on the side. He keeps pretty busy but with a little persuasion from myself finds time for me! I work at Granite Schools as a secretary and go to school! Both keep me busy and so if you ever come over to my house and it's extremely messy that would be why! We didn't do anything too exciting for Easter, but we did have a great time having dinner with mine and his parents and fam!

Well I'm not really sure what else to write. This may take me awhile to get used to and until I have children I don't think I'll have too much to say.

By the way we just took this picture because I don't think we have any that are really updated. So I guess I'll have to be better at taking pictures too!
